{"id":398,"date":"2007-05-17T10:02:44","date_gmt":"2007-05-17T14:02:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/?p=398"},"modified":"2007-05-17T10:02:44","modified_gmt":"2007-05-17T14:02:44","slug":"on-call","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/?p=398","title":{"rendered":"On Call"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I received word this morning that the House and Senate Education Committees have finished their work, with the exception of items relating to the BEP&nbsp; proposals (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennesseeanytime.org\/governor\/viewArticleContent.do?id=1018\" target=\"_blank\">BEP 2.0<\/a> and others) along with the associated funding.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, we&#8217;ve been asked to be &quot;on standby&quot; to go to Nashville next Tuesday and Wednesday for the final committee meetings, since we won&#8217;t have much time to react to what is presented.<\/p>\n<p>Delta will be at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gsmit.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tremont,<\/a> so hopefully He Who Tames Flying Monkeys can manage the rest of the crew.&nbsp; Alpha doesn&#8217;t need management, just gas money until she starts her summer job.&nbsp; Beta and Gamma are another issue.<\/p>\n<p>Which brings us back to the conflicting priorities: to <em>do<\/em> the job of a school board member, or to work to ensure I keep that job?&nbsp; For me, the choice is clear:&nbsp; I will do what I was elected to do, and trust that that is sufficient.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I received word this morning that the House and Senate Education Committees have finished their work, with the exception of items relating to the BEP&nbsp; proposals (BEP 2.0 and others) along with the associated funding.
