{"id":256,"date":"2006-12-31T11:57:11","date_gmt":"2006-12-31T15:57:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/?p=256"},"modified":"2006-12-31T12:16:11","modified_gmt":"2006-12-31T16:16:11","slug":"farewell-2006","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/?p=256","title":{"rendered":"Farewell, 2006"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a mixed year in the balance of triumph and adversity, both personal and otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>A few of the highlights for me were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Presenting Alpha with her high school diploma <em>(brag moment: she brought home a 3.75 GPA in her first semester in UT&#8217;s College of Engineering)<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li>Several quality+quantity &#8220;family time&#8221; weeks;<\/li>\n<li>Watching Betsy Coleman start her own <a title=\"BCRC\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/www.betsycolemanrealty.com\">real estate company<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Making several new friends, whose company I enjoy and opinions I value;<\/li>\n<li>Holding off harmful changes to the BEP during the legislative session <em>(though the battle continues)<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li>Seeing this community pull together to show support for education, from the ground up;<\/li>\n<li>Starting this blog, moving to WordPress, and mostly keeping up with it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course, the biggest joy (as it is every year) are the daily reminders that I married the right man.  I don&#8217;t know why, but I would never have thought that we could be more in love after 19 years of marriage than we were when we went to the altar.<\/p>\n<p>*  *  *<\/p>\n<p>There were, of course, a few disappointments along the way, but there&#8217;s no need to list them.  :p<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a mixed year in the balance of triumph and adversity, both personal and otherwise.
