{"id":243,"date":"2006-12-17T21:56:22","date_gmt":"2006-12-18T01:56:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/?p=243"},"modified":"2006-12-17T21:56:22","modified_gmt":"2006-12-18T01:56:22","slug":"family-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/?p=243","title":{"rendered":"Family Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today was a day for family time &#8212; breakfast at the historic <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Portage Point Inn\" href=\"http:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/www.portagepointinn.com\">Portage Point Inn<\/a>, followed by an afternoon of horseback riding.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"121706\" title=\"121706\" src=\"http:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/images\/121706.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From left are myself, he who tames flying monkeys, Delta, Gamma, Annie, Mike, and Teddy.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m riding Mustang Sally, so named because she was adopted from the wild.\u00c2\u00a0 She&#8217;s a spirited little sweetie who kept the stable owner busy because she could either untie the halter from the post, or slip her head out of the halter altogether, and wander freely about.<\/p>\n<p>I love horses; they&#8217;re a lot like big dogs.\u00c2\u00a0 If you&#8217;re firm but kind and offer positive reinforcements, they&#8217;re loyal and playful.<\/p>\n<p>Afterward, we visited with Grandma and Mark, drank hot chocolate, and let the kids run around the farm with the ATV.\u00c2\u00a0 Their two feet of snow melted earlier in the week so there isn&#8217;t any sledding or snowmen (yet), but it&#8217;s relaxing and we&#8217;re having a wonderful time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today was a day for family time &#8212; breakfast at the historic Portage Point Inn, followed by an afternoon of horseback riding.
