But I am getting into the holiday spirit, at least a little.<\/p>\n<p>Hubby has never been slave to watch, clock, or calendar, so some things just happen when they happen.  Like birthday presents (purchased well ahead of time, I would note, but left hidden for a couple of extra days for good measure).<\/p>\n<p>But today, the present finally appeared &#8212; following some prompting from the children, who wanted cookies, but were put off because my old hand mixer makes noises like it&#8217;s about to explode and send shrapnel all over the kitchen. The birthday replacement is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&#038;location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FKitchenAid-K45SS-Classic-250-Watt-2-Quart%2Fdp%2FB00004SGFW%2Fsr%3D8-1%2Fqid%3D1165714969%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dhome-garden&#038;tag=citinetm-20&#038;linkCode=ur2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325\">KitchenAid Classic<\/a><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" style=\"border: medium none  ! important; margin: 0px ! important\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=citinetm-20&#038;l=ur2&#038;o=1\" \/> stand mixer, which has already helped to produce a loaf of gingerbread, <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"peanut butter cookies\" href=\"http:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/PDF\/Soft%20Peanut%20Butter%20Cookies.pdf\">peanut butter cookies<\/a>, and my personal favorite, <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"gingerbread cookies\" href=\"http:\/\/www.citizennetmom.com\/PDF\/Soft%20Gingerbread%20Cookies.pdf\">soft gingerbread cookies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With extensive help from Gamma (the only person in the house with any talent for decorating), I also got the Christmas tree up.  No ornaments yet, but it&#8217;s up, it has lights and an angel, and there are a couple of pretty presents beneath.<\/p>\n<p>Delta thinks the presents are fake, BTW.
